Workshop on advanced methods for knowledge management, training and eucation for nuclear decommissioning

2019-06-19

Starting from June 19th and ending on June 21th the "Workshop on advanced methods for knowledge management, training and eucation for nuclear decommissioning" was organized by norwegian Institute for Energy Technology (IFE) in Halden, Norway.

We had a chance to present new advances in AquilaCosting software. And in addition to this we have met many nice people and experts from nuclear decommissioning.

Thanks to the organisational team for being invited there.

Technical Meetingg on Costing Approaches for Nuclear Technology Developers

2019-03-04

Our experts have been invited to the IAEA's Technical Meetingg on Costing Approaches for Nuclear Technology Developers which will be held on March 26 - 28 in IAEA's Vienna Information Centre. We are looking forward to seeing you.

New feature: Project schedule with a gantt chart

2019-01-28

Now you can easily, with a drag&drop-style user interface, configure a starting date for each decommissionning activity [1] directly in a gantt chart in AquilaCosting, without a complicated export & import to project scheduling software like MS Project or Primavera. This allows you to easily re-calculate the costs and dose uptake for more accurate results incorporating delayed start of each decommissionning activity and apropriate lower waste contamination.

[1] A decommissionning activity (together with an item in inventory database) is a basic calculation item on which all the decommissionning costs and dose uptakes are calculated.

Optimised calculation algorithm

2019-01-09

The calculation algorithm is now much faster than before. We successfuly stretched down the duration of a calculation from hours to minutes while keeping the results of calculation the same. The main reason for this optimisation is much lower count of database operations during the calculation.

Now a calculation for a costing case with:

  • an inventory database with up to 10.000 items,
  • with a very accurate waste management flow and
  • running on a mid-to-lower grade server

takes only up to 10 minutes!

This allows you to more frequently do the re-calculations and optimisations of your costing case.
